I agree.  What a joke! Ethics cards and decision to take action cards.  Let me pull out my action card to see if I can be a good witness and watch while the gang banger shoots at people.  Everytime I do ethics training I cannot not help but think what a joke as so many bad supervisors get away with so much and if you dare report something, you are the villan and they go after your job for bs.

Maybe someone can do the math:

How much tax payer money and resources have been spent to save the careers and cover the misdeeds of high level Senior level ATF managers to include but not limited to,

Bill Newell, George Gillette, Bill Mc Mahon, Julie Torres, Vanessa McLemore, Kelvin Crenshaw, John Torres, Jeff Voth, Billy Hoover, Edgar Domenech, and a whole cast of others?

The above "leaders" collectively destroyed the credibility, integrity and effectiveness of our Bureau, their self serving decisions have led to the loss of life, destruction of careers and their corrupt actions have been chronicled in Congressional hearings, OIG and OSC investigations and national media. YET, They were protected, allowed to reach retirement, ushered into cushy post ATF jobs and their disciplinary actions mitigated time after time, shamefully.

ATFs response to years of mismanagement and corruption? Give everybody a book and some playing cards illustrating our Directors view of trust. ONLY decisive action and leadership from the executive staff will effect change for the Bureau. We are LONG past pep talks, and intimidation. Trust and respect is earned, NOT MANDATED. That is the ONE theory that has escaped the Bureaus leadership to date.

Insulting Special Agents by issuing silly "integrity cards", is degrading.

The Agency continues to see as appropriate the spending of tens of thousands of dollars IF NOT MILLIONS, in concert with the Department of Justice to defend their actions against Jay Dobyns, myself and dozens of others. OUR CRIMES? Exposing the managers they have protected and empowered. Do Mr. Turk, Brandon and Jones truly think the field doesn't see the attempts to silence or discourage the field from "doing the right thing"?  Do they think attacking the Dodsons of the world are going to reverse the WELL DOCUMENTED distrust permeating the Bureau (see government conducted 2012 survey)?

With ALL due respect to those members of our Executive staff who DO get it, DOING THE SAME THING OVER AND OVER AND EXPECTING DIFFERENT RESULTS, DOESN'T WORK.

The committees which sought to INCLUDE the field, ie stakeholders, have been neutered and their recommendations and input ignored. Once again, the leadership of the Bureau which accounts for a couple hundred years of experience in the Effective and Successful mission capability of this Bureau, believes they KNOW better than a field of Agents and Inspectors who posses TENS OF THOUSANDS OF YEARS OF EXPERIENCE.  Remember, the public WHO WE SERVE has never been safer for the actions of our managers but have remained safe on the backs of our employees.
