My mistake in failing to acknowledge the deaths of innocent Mexicans due to the misfeasance and nonfeasance of ATF and the NSC.  I stand corrected, GoodWorker.

I guess we can go back and forth arguing about the CIA, Dick Cheney and all sorts of bogeymen, real and imagined, but the bottom line is that ATF has committed a lot of egregious acts over the years -- both to innocent Americans and to honest ATF employees -- and ATF, its bosses, and a couple of officials in THIS administration have not been held accountable.  In fact, the egregious acts have been covered up, or those who have been victimized by brutish ATF thugs ["One-Case," "Prince of the City"] have been further victimized by attacks against our characters and reputations.  None of my cases ever led to laws being violated, let alone people being killed, yet ATF treated me like I was the villain.  And sadly, I'm not alone.

I would have rather worked for the CIA the past 15 years than have worked for ATF.  I am proud of my cases, but I am not proud of ATF.

Well said abteilung.  I would like to add that thousands of Mexican citizens have been or will be killed by F & F trafficked firearms.  The dishonest and incompetent are protected and sometimes promoted while the honest are terrorized.

As you where I was in the US Marines.  I served from 1967-1970.  I understand the concept of war.  During that period this same behavior would have gotten a person a dishonorable discharge after serving a lengthy prison sentence.

What was done in the CIA program is the worst crime that has been committed in the history of the US by a government agency. It tore out the very fabric of what this country stands for. To make it even worse many of the executives involved in the program, including a former vice president, are copping an attitude like they didn't do anything wrong and should receive a medal.

What I fail to understand is why our government released such an inflammatory report on CIA efforts to debrief terrorist but yet the DOJ is withholding so many documents on the F&F.  At least the CIA was trying to protect Americans.

I know that was a rhetorical question. But, to be clear, ATF had NO noble intention for walking guns. The bosses couldn't and still cant justify their actions and crimes have been committed. NONE of that applies to the CIA enhanced interrogation techniques.
