For the level of abuse of a G ride by this senior manager, I would think demotion, transfer, (time on the beach), just like the worker bees get. We'll see. Has anything occurred to the manager who destoyed the hotel room and defiled the plywood hole? I heard work out of the house. Not a bad gig. Again no demotion? Guess George Gillette should be a little upset about his punishment. The was no lumber involed and no vacations in the G ride. Just subordinate females and female informants.
Russel Vanderwerf, the DIO who was arrested in New Orleans, currently works from his home in the same position. WOW what a punishment.I guess there's no law against defacing your own property! Mr. Melson, we (field, staff, management, congress, appropriations committee, the nation) are watching!

I don't know who is acting in Little Rock, but I know that office has had more than one poor supervisor in the recent past - lots of personnel issues and "grievances." Since the government is spending this kind of money having someone "detailed" as acting supervisor for so long, I hope he/she is worth it. But the rules are the rules and should be applied fairly to all -- management and agents/investigators. I guess I don't have as much trouble with the GOV issue as I do with the per diem issue, as an agent in a similar situation would be allowed to use his/her GOV for commuting and no questions are asked.

Being familiar with the situation in Little Rock from contacts there, the personnel issues and "grievances" were initiated because of problems with prior managements disregard for rules and policies. It seems as though some employees there did what so many are afraid to do and that is make a stand. I have some contacts there and know much of the details, but that is not what matters. I applaud those employees and the others that have posted on this site for courageously standing firm for their agency and not letting wayward managers that abuse and break the law go unchecked.

As far as the GOV issue, one must understand that government provided vehicles whether owned or leased by ATF are treated differently when provided to 1811's vs. other job series. Sure you can be provided a government vehicle to commute from your hotel to your TDY location, but not for personal or leisure trips outside your scope of duties. I know that this is not a "perk" given to other non-1811 personnel such as area supervisors. There are laws bigger than ATF's own-GSA regulations and the U.S. Code. If this is the case, then sign me up- I want a government provided vehicle. No use in making payments to GM.
